On the 27th of April, Ron's latest film, Diggers, will be premiering in selected cinemas across America, and on the 1st of April will also be released on DVD. The film also stars Paul Rudd, Ken Marino (who also wrote the film), Josh Hamilton, Sarah Paulson, Maura Tierney and Lauren Ambrose.
The film tells the tale of a group of friends on Long Island, whose small town way of life is under threat from the major changes going on in the 1970s. The clam-digging livelihood of Hunt (Rudd) and his friends Frankie Lozo (Marino), Cons (Hamilton) and Jack (Eldard) is being threatened by an encroaching corporation and their lives are on the way to being changed forever.

Blind Justice will begin to air in the UK on January 5th. After a year of waiting fans will finally be able to see all thirteen episodes. The show will air every Friday night at 10pm on FX UK (channel number 179 on both Sky and NTL).

It was announced today that on the 10th January 2006 Ron will be returning to the stage. Taking over from Br'an F. O'Byrne, he will be playing the title role in Father Flynn in Doubt. Staring opposite him will be Eileen Atkins, who is replacing Cherry Jones.

Ron's latest film, Freedomland, is to go on early release in New York and Los Angeles on December 23rd. This is earlier than the wide release date, January 13th, in order to be eligible for Oscar consideration.

It has been announced that Ron will star in a period piece titled 'Diggers', being financed by HDNet Films and 2929 Entertainment. The film, scripted by Marino, directed by Katherine Dieckmann, will also star Paul Rudd, Ken Marino, Josh Hamilton, Maura Tierney, Lauren Ambrose and Sarah Paulson. Set in the Hamptons in the 1970s, the film will be concerned with two generations of clam-diggers who are attempting to maintain their hard-living way of life under the pressure of enormous change. The film will be distributed simultaneously between theatres, home video and cable markets by 2929's Magnolia Pictures.

Today ABC confirmed that Ron's crime drama series, Blind Justice, has been cancelled. Although the show's remaining 3 episodes of the 13 originally shot will be shown, the series will be not returning for a second season. To promote Blind Justice, which airs on Tuesday, Ron's doing a tour of the talk the show circuit. The listings for the shows he's appearing on are as follows: Monday March 7th - Good Morning America (ABC, 7am Central) and The View (ABC, 10am Central); Tuesday March 8th - Tony Danza Show (check local listings for time and station); Monday March 14th - Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, 11.35pm Central).

It was announced on Wednesday that Ron has joined the cast for Freedomland, the adaptation of Richard Price's bestselling novel that is being directed by Joe Roth for Revolution studios. The film begins shooting on March 31 in New York. Other names attached to the project at the moment are Edie Falco (The Sopranos), Julianne Moore, Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie (Million Dollar Baby).
The novel opens with a bruised and bloodied white woman, Brenda Martin, stumbling into a New Jersey emergency room, claiming that a black man stole her car with her four year old son in the backseat. Lorenzo Council, a veteran detective, is assigned to investigate the case and even though he doubts Brenda's story, starts an all out-search for the abducted boy. Also suspecting that Martin is hiding smething, an ambitious young reporter for the local newspaper, Jesse Haus, befriends the mother in an attempt to break a story that'll sky-rocket her career. As the search the alleged carjacker continues, smoldering racial tensions between the mainly black city of Dempsey and its predominantly wite neighbour, Gannon, threaten to explode.

The premiere date for Ron's latest TV series, Blind Justice, has finally been announced. The midseason drama will premiere on Tuesday March the 8th, in the slot previously occupied by NYPD Blue, 10pm Eastern/9pm central time.

Two of Ron's co-stars for the upcoming Blind Justice pilot have been confirmed. Frank Grillo, who previously starred in The Shield, will play Detective Marty Kimbrough, who's trying to make sure a blind detective (Ray) will not return to the police force. Rena Sofer, formerly of Coupling and Ed, is to star as Christie, the wife of Ron Eldard's character.

It was announced today that Ron will star in a new drama pilot for Alphabet, Blind Justice, which is about a blind detective.. Writers/producers Matt Olmstead and Nicholas Wooton are behind the show, which comes from Paramount Network Television and Steven Bochco Productions. The show is being targeted for debut sometime in May 2004.

Having opened to excellent reviews in the US, Ron's latest movie, The House of Sand and Fog will be released nationwide in British cinemas on the 27th of February.

Award triumph for Ron this week for the role of Lester in The House of Sand and Fog. Although he was snowbound and unable to attend the ceremony, Ron scooped the Breakthrough Actor Award at the BevHilton ceremony for the Hollywood Women's Press Club Golden Apple Awards. Wonderful to see his work being recognised once more.
